“If you live in the past you are depressed, if you live in the future you are anxious, if you live in the present you are at peace.” – Lao Tzu, ancient Chinese Philosopher
Peace, man. A year ago it was Halftime. The second half is underway, (has been for a year), and it is a year of change. But I could say that about any year…anyone could. Few things stay stagnant, little shifts abound, sometimes bigger winds blow. Life is constant change.
51 years ago today I entered the Universe. And according to author Jen Sincero that day is so awesome, I am so awesome that it’s ridiculous. I have to agree.
I’m as awesome as everyone else reading this, or anyone else on the planet for that matter, present and past. As Jen explains, why would the Universe waste it’s time with me, or with you, or with anyone else if it didn’t expect us to inherit the earth like no creature ever has. There is no one like you who has come before and no one like you who will come after. No one, ever.
I am as unique and different and so freakin’ cool I don’t know what to do with myself – except to stand next to you and realize you are exactly the same. How awesome is that?
If we really love ourselves, everything in our life works. – Louise Hay, author, publisher.
For more then half-a-century I have given the world a piece of me and there’s a whole lot left to give, more than I can even imagine…and to love. Love yourself and everyone benefits because you have a whole lot left to give. Like attracts like.
So as I mark the anniversary of year 51, with 49 more as the goal – I go back, (just for a moment), and expand on the quote at the beginning of the blog: remember, but don’t be defined by the past, don’t get too nervous about the future, but simply live in the present, embrace it…and be at peace.
51 here I am.
Until next time thanks for taking the time,
