Your Freedom To Believe: It’s Just About… Life.

July 3, 2013 By markbrodinsky Leave a Comment

KONICA MINOLTA DIGITAL CAMERANow that we’ve paused to recognize and reflect on the 100th blog post, it’s time to get back to work on the mission: becoming more, helping others do the same. And it’s a perfect time to do so, as we prepare to celebrate this nation’s independence. It’s time to celebrate yours, or to get to work on creating it, because it’s what life is all about.

The way to do this is to keep focused on your vision, your dream and your plan to achieve it and not to let limiting beliefs hold you back. For several days now I’ve returned to basics, listening to a CD called, Living Your Best Year Ever, by Darren Hardy. Specifically an excerpt he calls Guidelines. With your permission I have transcribed his words below and truly believe it is worth a few minutes of your time, in fact it’s worth reading and re-reading, to allow it to marinate in your heart, mind and soul. Want to become more? It starts with breaking free…

Guidelines
Suspend reality. Pretend it’s only a game. Let the giant that lay dormant inside you out to play. If you had every resource, skill or ability, what would you do? What would you set out to accomplish? Don’t filter, qualify or judge. Albert Einstein said, “the same thinking that led you to where you are now, is not going to lead you to where you want to go.” So remember, don’t prejudge your ability, or worthiness to have whatever your mind can conceive. Let your thoughts flow.

Go for it and go BIG. It has been proven, countless times, by average people with meager beginnings, who have risen to become world-changing achievers. Anything you can clearly envision and you’re your mind can materialize is in the realm of possibility for you. It’s important to understand, your mind doesn’t care about the size of your goals. If you desire little goals, you can achieve little goals, if you desire big goals, you can achieve big goals. And for the most part, it takes as much time, energy and life force to achieve big goals, as it does little ones.

We have all been given great promise that requires very little from you. According to ancient script all you have to do is ask. Ask and it will be given to you. Seek and you will find. Give yourself permission to dream big, and to risk big. What would you go for if you knew success was guaranteed? If you could write your script for your character’s role in life and it could be anything, what role would you write for yourself?

What’s your secret ambition? What have you always wanted to do, have, be, experience, but have been too afraid to pursue? What is that one thing that even the thought of it makes your palms sweat a little?

You are called for greatness. Answer the call. Expect greatness from yourself. Your responsibility is to live out your potential and be the best you possibly can be, right here, right now. As Jim Rohn says,”don’t set your goals too low, if you don’t need much, you won’t become much.”

Make sure the goals are YOUR goals. Too many people set goals other people tell them they should have, rather than the ones they really want. If your written goals are not from inside you, from your true spirit and ambition, your creative spirit won’t try to accomplish them anyway.

And don’t be afraid to FIGHT. One of the best days of your life will be when you find your fight. Without a fight, we all become fat, lazy and sedentary. We lose purpose, passion and vigor. A good enemy gives you a reason to fight. It pushes you to dig deep, exercise your skills and talents and abilities to the fullest, it challenges your character and motivation.
So, what are you willing to fight for? What do you see as an enemy to your industry, your family, your community, your world? What do you hate?

Find your enemy and let that image stir your blood. Martin Luther King Jr said,”if you haven’t found something to die for, you aren’t fit to live.” What are you willing to work day and night for? What are you willing to die for, so essentially you can really live.

And fear not. Consider this passage from Mary Ann Williamson’s Book, A Return To Love: “Our greatest fear is not that we are inadequate, our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that frightens us. We ask ourselves who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous. Actually who are you not to be?

You are a child of G-d. Your playing small doesn’t serve the world. There is nothing enlightening from shrinking so other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We are born to manifest the glory of G-d that is within us. It is not just in some of us, it is in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”

My friends, our Founding Fathers recognized this, and today we live in freedom, freedom declared and freedom others have fought and died for. Heed the call, find your fight, defend your life’s purpose. Dare to dream and declare your freedom.

Until next time, thanks for taking the time.

Mark

Pure Imagination: It’s Just About… Life

It’s that time of year, for reflection and for future planning. The time we all look to the new year and wonder what it will bring – the same, better, or worse – the latter being the one to ignore, because it’s not worth thinking about – if you do so then you close your […]

The Sunday Series (54), with Mark Brodinsky

It’s one of the most basic of  human desires, the need to communicate, to speak and to be heard. When the thoughts are there, the ideas are many, the gift you want to share is on the tip of your tongue, but the words refuse to come easy…this is where courage must be summoned, for […]
