THERE WAS A TIME they couldn’t speak, only smile, cry and maybe make a babbling sound or two. Though we couldn’t have a conversation, they could do one thing like no one else in the world, speak right to my heart.
More than a decade later, it’s a whole new world. My girls, my daughters, can not only speak, but on my birthday they took it to a whole new level. They put it down in words, for me to have for all time. What follows are the letters my daughters Sophie and Emily gave me on my birthday this past Sunday. Sophie posted her letter on Instagram. Emily’s was handwritten and handed over at breakfast. You can click on each letter below:
It’s almost too much to take. My girls take my heart and they burrow deep inside, about as far as they can go.
One day I will have to let them go. Until then I hold them tight and when that day comes these letters of love will let me know I did something right.
Until next time, thanks for taking the time.
Mark
So priceless Mark; you did more than “something right!” What fabulous daughters you (&Debbie) have nurtured…their words say it all.
Thank you Marilyn.
