Inside Out: It’s Just About… Life.

May 15, 2013 By markbrodinsky 2 Comments

inside-outI’m beginning to believe it’s the only way. To live a life of meaning, of happiness, of fulfillment you need to work on you first. Just like success, happiness cannot be pursued, you cannot hope it will happen, you need to have a plan and weave it like a tapestry through your life.

Get the inside right and the outside world will seek you out. It’s the law of attraction. Work harder on being a better person, on being someone who literally counts their blessings and minimizes the rest. Find your purpose, learn your WHY and watch what happens. Watch as your mind and your heart move in the direction of your dreams. Your life moves to the place you put your attention. It is all about the direction in which you focus your unique, powerful, creative mind. Focus on the positive, on gratitude and fill the space in your brain with good intentions, motives and outcomes. It’s virtually impossible for failure and misery to exist in the same space as gratitude.

It takes practice. I’m doing it. Early each morning I focus on the three things which were good, for which I am thankful for, that happened the day before. You can do it at night if you choose, right before you drift off to sleep. Take your mind to a good place, so it is filled with positive thoughts. Imagine the feeling of sending your subconscious to dreamland with the right fuel to light up the darkness of your mind during those hours of slumber. Think those dreams you dream might be good ones? What a way to keep the nightmares at bay. Take your inside to a better place.

Here’s some help. Start or end your day with these. I’ve tried to do the homework for you, as I searched for words to inspire and motivate you. You must start somewhere. A good quote can sometimes make magic, setting in motion thoughts, ideas, and feelings which can lead you to change your life:

“People often say that this or that person has not yet found himself. But the self is not something one finds, it is something one creates.” – Thomas Szasz

“There is only one corner of the universe you can be certain of improving, and that’s your own self.” – Aldous Huxley

“There are three things extremely hard: steel, a diamond, and to know one’s self.” – Benjamin Franklin

“A person often meets his destiny on the road he took to avoid it.” – Jean de La Fontaine

“You will recognize your own path when you come upon it, because you will suddenly have all the energy and imagination you will ever need.” – Jerry Gillies

“The man who views the world at fifty the same as he did at twenty has wasted thirty years of his life.” – Muhammad Ali

“Knowing yourself is the beginning of all wisdom.” – Aristotle

It all begins with you. There’s even a song (imagine that), actually many songs, but this one you probably know well, called Man in the Mirror, sung by Michael Jackson, but penned by Glen Ballard and Siedah Garrett. These lyrics could launch you to your better self… starting today.

I’m starting with the man in the mirror
I’m asking him to change his ways
And no message could have been any clearer
If you wanna make the world a better place
Take a look at yourself and then make a change

See you on your better side. The inside.

Until next time, thanks for taking the time.

Mark

Top to Bottom?: It’s Just About… Life

You can do it the way it’s always been done, or you can choose to do things differently. You can give it a passing glance, or you can take a second look. You might just be surprised at what you see. If you want to live the life you deserve, you have to step away […]

The Sunday Series 68, (Mother’s Day Edition), with Mark Brodinsky

I stand in awe. Let’s face it, it’s all any man can do when it comes to the female species. The ability to create life, to nurture life, to simply keep the human race moving forward, is a daily, if not minute-by-minute, second-by-second… miracle. Her role is accepted as part of the “norm”, yet her […]
